We went to A LOT of vegan restaurants while in Mexico City. In fact, we went to so many, we could probably do another entire post! We had lots of people tell us they were very concerned we wouldn’t be able to find any vegan food. After our trip, I’m now confident to say that there is nothing to worry about at all. We didn’t have a single issue finding amazing food to eat, so go ahead and book that flight! Here are 7 of the best vegan restaurants Mexico City has to offer.
Por Siempre Vegana
This was my all-time favourite restaurant from our trip! Por Siempre Vegana is a fully vegan restaurant with every Mexican dish you could want. The staff are so lovely and helpful in knowing what to order, so go on and give your Spanish a try.
All of the dishes come with salsa and fresh limes. In the photo, we have the enchiladas we ordered on our first day here. These flavours are seriously to die for!
They also have great prices too. If you’re on a strict budget, you’ll find the tacos to be the perfect choice. However, all of the dishes vary in price depending on how many extras you choose. Trust me, once you’ve gone here you won’t want to leave. We couldn’t stop coming back!
Located on C. Manzanillo, Roma Norte, Mexico City
Por Siempre Vegana 2
As you can tell by the name, this is the food cart version of the restaurant above. It has a smaller menu, mainly consisting of delicious tacos and tortas. If you’re looking for an authentic street food experience, you HAVE to come here.
The tortas here are incredible. Just imagine a spongy, sweet piece of bread layered with crispy cheese, piled high with chorizo. Even now, months later, our fondest memories are still when we were standing on the street, enjoying some messy tortas in the sweltering Mexican sun. Go on and visit both places – you won’t regret it!

Gracias Madre Taquería
Gracias Madre is a fully vegan restaurant that had the creamiest guacamole we found in the city. We would recommend you order the quesadilla as their fake meat was unlike anything I had tasted before. As is the custom in Mexico, all the dishes come with fresh lime wedges and salsas too. Their meals aren’t particularly light on grease, so this is the perfect comida after a big night out.
Located in Roma Norte, this place is nearby lots of other fully vegan restaurants, so you can eat all day if you want. With such low prices, you’ll find it hard to hold back ordering more!
Located on Tabasco, Roma Norte, Mexico City
Pali Pali Alameda
Pali Pali Alameda is a really cute little place tucked away in a food court. It is more of a takeaway location but does have a few chairs if you choose to dine in. Located in the Center of Mexico City, it’s a fantastic place to pop in for lunch when you are out sightseeing.
Pali Pali is a fully vegan restaurant, offering some of the most delicious tacos and pineapple tortas. Their food is best served alongside a cold cerveza, which will leave you more than satisfied. You can also get conchas, a traditional Mexican sweet bread. We thought the bread was delicious, and this restaurant offers a variety of other goods for those with a sweet tooth.
Located on Calle Dr Mora, Colonia Centro, Mexico City
Vegamo
Vegamo has a good selection of different dishes, our go-to’s being the chilaquiles (a traditional breakfast dish) and enchiladas. This place is definitely more of a cafe with chill vibes rather than a restaurant, but it still offers some amazing food. This one was located right next to a hostel too, which was perfect for us. We were able to roll straight out of bed and get served a lovely breakfast!
They have a few different locations throughout the city. We only tried the one in Centro as we were staying right next door in Massiosare El Hostel. Click here to book the hostel.
Locations in Centro and Rome Norte
Los Loosers
Los Loosers is a restaurant entirely based around different varieties of mushrooms. All their dishes are beautifully presented, making it great for that Insta photo. But not only do they look great, they taste great too. Their only downside is that they are easily the most expensive location on this list.
The food is adventurous and full of strong flavours, just what you want from a taco. With nice outdoor seating available, you’ll be able to soak up the sun, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal. Be aware the portions are fairly small, so make sure you order a lot! They also have a small shop selling a few hand-crafted plates and bowls, if you’re interested in artisanal goods.
Located on Sinaloa, Roma Norte, Mexico City
Churrería El Moro
In Mexico City, Churrería El More is a chain of restaurants dedicated to making churros and a few other drinks. The churro is actually vegan, but this is not a completely vegan place as many of the other sauces contain dairy. But after a long day of exploring the city, nothing beats a soft, warm, and sugary churro.
Be warned – the location in the centre of Mexico City can be insanely busy, so I would advise going to another location or going before 2 pm.
Locations in the Historic Center, Mariano Escobedo, Countless, Rome and many more
